Children under 3 with autistic symptoms may be eligible for Early Start services. The rules changed lately in CA due to the budget crises. Now, at age 2 or more a child must be 50% delayed in ONE area (gross motor, communicatiion, social, self help) OR 33% delayed in two areas. This is a much higher standard to meet than before.
